PURPOSE:A cosmetic having pearly luster, prepared by incorporating a transparent cosmetic base with plate polymeric powder laid in the form of many layers, and having a unique opaline pearly luster, and suppliable stably at a low cost without the variation in quality. CONSTITUTION:A cosmetic obtained by incorporating a transparent cosmetic base, e.g. transparent oil, transparent aqueous mixture, transparent solubilized material, transparent emulsified material, transparent powdery or transparent powder dispersion material, having >=30% transparency with 0.5-50wt% plate polymeric powder laid in many layers. The multi-layered plate polymer is prepared by laying two or more kinds of homo- or copolymer of polyester, polystyrene, acrylic resin, polyolefin or polyvinyl acetate, in 100-300 layers to give 10-50mu thickness, finely cutting the multilayered polymer by punching on a vacuum plate, etc. to form powder having 0.05-1.0mm. major and minor axes. The resultant cosmetic has high safety. |
