UNDERWATER DETECTION AND DISPLAY

PURPOSE:To display an object clearly while discriminating it from a noise by summing a reflected wave corresponding to the movement extent of a ship when detecting the object in the sailing direction of the ship by ultrasonic wave pulses. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic wave transmitter and receiver transmits ultrasonic wave pulses in the sailing direction of the ship and receives a reflected wave from the object. This reflected wave is A/D-converted and stored in a shift register 14 successively through a buffer memory 9. A CPU3 reads the contents of the register 14 and stores them in respective addresses of an RAM20. The CPU3 fetches data 21 on the speed of the ship to calculate the movement extent of the ship. The CPU3 extracts data corresponding to the movement extent of the ship from the contents of the register 14 and adds it to data in a corresponding address in the RAM20 to display the sum on a display 24. Thus, the object is displayed clearly while discriminated from a noise.
