The protector is intended for fitting in front of spectacles, safety helmet visor or the like in conditions of rain, snow, strong sunlight etc. It consists of a flat or curved plate (1) in opaque or transparent material having perforations (2) each provided with a forwardly projecting collar (3) around all or part of the perforation. The perforations may be round or may consist of one or more horizontal slots with the projections extending along the upper edge of each slot. In the case of a helmet visor, the plate may be integral with the visor.FL.
