PURPOSE:To discriminate the knds of IC chips easily by forming an element active region to a surface section and forming a symbol for discriminating kinds with shape, which can be viewed with eyes, onto a back section. CONSTITUTION:The element active region is formed to the surface section of an IC chip 1, and the symbols 2 for discriminating kinds with shape, which can be viewed with eyes, are formed onto the back section through photoengraving or laser processing. When a plural kind of the IC chips 1 are manufactured in one wafer, the wafer is cut and divided into several IC chip 1, and the symbols 2 formed onto the backs of these divided IC chips 1 are viewed with eyes, thus easily sorting the IC chips 1 at every kind. |
