PURPOSE:To weld a base material and a small diameter rod effectively with a simple operation by forming beforehand a bead in the welding position on the base material, remelting the bead and embedding the small diameter rod therein. CONSTITUTION:A filler wire 2 is melted as much as required by a TIG torch 4 in the prescribed position on a base material 1 and a bead-like filler metallic part 3 is formed on the material 1. The part 3 is remelted by using a TIG torch 4 and the forward end of a mounting rod 5 of a small diameter is inserted into the molten metal. The molten metal is allowed to solidify and the welding is completed. The rod 5 can be welded to the base material without melting a part of the rod by this method. This method is also characterized by the obviation of change in shape after welding without limitation in any shape and length of the rod 5. |
