PURPOSE:To recover valuable FeCl3 and Ni chloride, by concentrating waste liquor which is obtained by etching Ni with a FeCl3 solution, absorbing HCl gas in the treated solution, recovering Ni, collecting FeCl3 and HCl from the residue. CONSTITUTION:Waste liquor obtained by etching Ni or Ni alloy with a FeCl3 solution is concentrated under heating to give 30-45wt% solution, which is cooled to about 15-35 deg.C. The precipitated crystal of FeCl2.4H2O is separated and removed, HCl gas is introduced and absorbed in the treated solution while keeping it at 5--10 deg.C, FeCl3 as HFeCl4 complex salt is left in the solution, and only Ni is precipitated as NiCl2 crystal, separated and recovered. HCl is stripped from the treated solution, the treated solution is recovered as a concentrated FeCl3 solution, and stripped and recovered HCl is recycled to a cooling and crystallization process. |
