An electro-magnetic metering pump (3) is assembled as a unit with an oil level controller. The volumetric delivery principle of the pump (3) permits a substantially viscosity-independent and temperature-independent control of the oil supply to the burner (5). The pressure line (6) opens into the admission line (10) without contact above the oil level (b, c) of the oil level controller. The controller-side end (7) of the admission line (10) lies above each oil level (b, c) of the metering device in the operating state. In this way, the vaporising oil burner (5) cannot be flooded. <IMAGE>
