The rectangular container is designed to convey e.g. building plaster, comprising four walls with a roof and a discharge funnel (5) and telescopic legs (6,8). It has a loading (13) door and lifting eyes together with externally open longitudinally slotted box section rails (14,15) for the forks of a lift truck. The main lifting eyes and the rails are sited on opposite side walls, the eyes defining an area contg. the projected centre of gravity of the container when the rail side is horizontal. At least one eye (11) affixes to a top edge and a preferred arrangement uses three eyes at the corner of a triangle. Two eyes (9,10) lie on a horizontal line below the centre of gravity, the others (11) being sited halfway between them on the top edge and on the neutral axis (16) of the container.
