PURPOSE:To carry out the generation of soot due to imperfect combustion in good efficiency, in adhering soot to the plating unnecessary surface of a steel strip of which the single surface must be subjected to hot dipping of a metal, by supplying a combustion aid gas to the central part of an imperfeet combustion flame for soot generation. CONSTITUTION:Plural burners 6 for imperfect combustion are arranged so as to be opposed to the plating unnecessary part of a steel strip of which the single surface must by subjected to hot dipping of a metal while an air flow ducts 4 are provided between each burners 6 to be connected to air flow pipes 5. Soot produced by imperfect combustion due to the burners 6 is adhered to the plating unnecessary surface of the steel strip while said steel strip is moved to form a plating inhibiting film. In this case, when an oxygen defficient state is generated in the central part of an imperfeet combustion flame and the generation of soot becomes imperfect, air is sucked between burner rows as shown by an arrow by negative pressure generated when a combustion exhaust gas is exhausted from the air flow ducts 4 and the air flow pipes 5 to eliminate the defficiency of oxygen and, therefore, soot is formed in good efficiency. |
