PURPOSE:To easily control the gear shifting pattern of a gear shifter and build it at low cost, by shaping the tips of the arm and guide plate of the gear shifter as plates and providing recesses and protrusions on the butted edges of the tips to cause them to cooperate with each other. CONSTITUTION:The tip 3a of an arm 3, which is coupled to a control rod 1, is shaped as a plate. A guide plate 4, which cooperates with the arm 3, is attached to a transmission case 6. A recess 3c is provided on the tip 3a of the arm 3. Recesses 4b, 4c, 4d and stoppers 4e, 4f are provided on the guide plate 4. When gear shifting operation is effected, the arm 3 integrally coupled to the control rod 1 is turned until the tip 3a runs into the stopper 4e or 4f. In a gear shift position P1, P2 or P3, the tip 3a of the arm 3 is trued up with the recess 4b, 4c or 4d so that the control rod 1 and the arm can be freely moved in the recess by gear shifting operation. |
