摘要 The invention relates to a method and a device for developing electrostatic charge images, the charging of the pigment, its transport to the charge image and the application of the pigment to said image being performed at spatially separate locations. In this regard, it is difficult when using a dry toner to achieve proportional development of the charge image. The invention provides that the toner powder is transported on an electrically insulating belt (11), whose rear is provided with electrically conductive strips (16) located transverse to the transport direction (11'), to the image layer (21) and is transferred there by an electric field onto the image layer (21). In addition, for the purpose of precipitating undesired particles (8, 9) before transport the pigment can be led through a chamber (10), which acts as an air classifier, if necessary around an electric field (7). The proportional development of charge images according to the invention is particularly suitable for use in medical diagnostic radiography. <IMAGE>
