Content-addressable memory system with microprogrammable control

摘要

The invention relates to a content-addressable memory system which can be coupled to any universal computer as an autonomous unit and independently carries out complex search processes in formatted data sets. It is distinguished by the fast processing of complex search processes which are composed by a logical combination of many search arguments. An in-built microprogrammable control considerably simplifies the handling of the system by the connected computer. The stored data are accessed via a part of the stored content itself and not by specifying the storage location.
