In a shearing device for cutting bar-shaped stock there are two cutting blade supports defining a cutting point between them. The supports are mounted for relative rotation on a working bearing. The blades are pivotally mounted on an axis which is offset from the centre of the cutting point. Means are provided for selectively rotationally positioning the support assembly about this axis.
