The filling valve (14) fits in the feed pipe entry into the tank (10). The valve housing incorporates a spring-loaded non-return valve (52) and a valve (28) on a parked valve seat. The valve (28) is returned to the open position under the action of a light spring (34). The valve is operated by a cam (42,46) driven by a float on the end of the rod (40). When the high level is attained, the valve closes and the supply pump is stopped followed by the closing of the non-return valve.
