The bomb-fuse removal unit is intended to prevent further fatal accidents in the future disarming of bombs. The severance-cutting head installed in the bomb-fuse removal unit is equipped with two cutting steels which cut out the thread of the orifice bush which is located in the bomb bottom and into which the bomb fuse is screwed. After the orifice-bush thread has been severed, the orifice bush, together with the bomb fuse located in it, can easily be removed from the bomb body. The bomb-fuse removal unit is equipped with a remote control and is operated from cover. The bomb-fuse removal unit can also be attached to the bomb body in the pit (place where found), irrespective of the position of the dud bomb. The bomb-fuse removal unit can be attached either to the bomb tip (head fuse) or to the bomb rear (rear fuse). The use of the bomb-fuse removal unit guarantees considerable cost saving in comparison with conventional disarming methods. In view of the explosives appraisals made, the removal of bomb fuses by hand is becoming more and more dangerous. In the light of this appraisal, in the near future, the disarming of a bomb is to be carried out only with the bomb-fuse removal unit and from cover.
