摘要

A magnetic recording medium comprising a non-magnetic base (1) having provided thereon a magnetizable layer of two-layered structure composed of a first magnetizable layer (4) and a second magnetizable layer (5) each based on Co compound-deposited type iron oxide magnetic powder or Co and Fe compounds-deposited iron oxide magnetic powder. The two magnetizable layers (4) and (5) can reduce bias noise while maintaining regeneration output at a high level over the whole range by properly selecting specific surface area (measured by the BET method) of each magnetic powder, coercive force, residual magnetic flux, and thickness of the layer.
