<p>WHEY FILTER A whey filter for removing fine curd particles from a stream of cheese whey includes a mesh screen suspended in a cylindrical portion of a tank with cheese whey being introduced above the screen through inlet ports arranged to direct the cheese whey in a path tangential to the periphery of the circle of the screen. A plurality of scraper blades rest on the screen and are rotated by the flow of the cheese whey so as to urge the curd particles resting on top of the screen toward a hole in the center of the screen so that the curd falls into an outlet chute while the whey is removed from the bottom of the tank.</p> |
