摘要 PURPOSE:To work uniformly a work piece having a rugged surface by a laser with high efficiency by providing means of detecting the ruggedness on the surface of the work piece with a contactor, converting the same electrically and driving and controlling the spacing between a convex lens and the work piece at a constant level. CONSTITUTION:The distance of a convex lens 19 fro a work piece 21 is so set that the detection part 29 of a contactor 25 is located at the intermediate of a displacement transducer 30 and the focus 28 of a laser beam 18 is matched with the surface of the work piece 21. If the surface of the work piece 21 projects in this case, the contactor 25 turns upward and the part 29 moves downward, then the detectpr 30 emits a signal to a relay 31. A driving motor 15 for vertical movement is operated by said signal to move a bracket 13 upward and to reset the contactor 3 to the original state, whreby the distance between the lens 19 and the work piece 21 is maintained constant. Thus, the focus 28 of the beam 18 is automatically matched with the suface of the work 21 and the working of good efficiency is sustained.
