METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ROUGHING-DOWN IN CASE OF HOT FORGING

PURPOSE:To improve the dimension accuracy of an object to be worked, by setting a distance between 2 shafts of a pair of rolls, when executing roughing- down by working of a lot of passes. CONSTITUTION:A titled device is constituted to vary distances d2-d5 between 2 shafts of forging rolls 3, 4 and an optimum rolling reduction can be obtained by each pass by setting these distances d2-d5 at every pass. Also, it is constituted to vary bite start positions l2-l5 of a roll by a manipulator 5 and these positions l2-l5 are set at every pass to produce an optimum bite position of each pass.
