METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CONTINUOUS CASTING OF STEEL PLATE

PURPOSE:To economize energy and manpower and to improve production efficiency by smelting molten iron continuously to molten steel and vacuum degassing and killing the same continuously then casting the steel continuously. CONSTITUTION:Molten iron is supplied from a ladle 1 to an oxidation refining furnace 2 at the rate conforming to the production speed of a steel plate 12 to be produced with a continuous casting device 4. The molten iron is smelted continuously in the furnace 2 and is then supplied continuously into a finish smelting furnace 3 such as a vacuum degassing furnace. The molten steel is further supplied directly through a molten steel passage 8 into the device 4 continuously, by which the molten steel is cast continuously as the steel plate 12 with the rotation of two cooling rolls 5.
