PURPOSE:To manufacture easily a heat transmission pipe having deep, fine grooves, by providing a solid-state, highly elastic ring body around a metallic pipe to be worked in which a grooved mendrel is inserted, and pressing and forming by solid-state transmission forming pressure through the ring body. CONSTITUTION:A grooved mandrel 32 having grooves on the outer periphery is inserted in a metallic pipe 31 to be worked. A solid-state, highly eleastic body, for instance, a ring body made of hard rubber, is attached around the pipe 31 to constitute a formed assembly 34. This assembly 34 is placed in a container 35 serving as a pressurizing container, and pressure is applied by a pusher 36 from the upper part of the ring body. The pressure is converted into force that acts on the outer peripheral face of the pipe 31 from the radial direction by the ring body that acts as a pressure medium, and presses the pipe 31 against the mandrel 32. Consequently, a desired grooved heat transmission pipe is manufactured. |
