PURPOSE:To prevent diesel knock by forming an auxiliary injection port of small diameter on a nozzle head end part and the like of a device whick opens and closes an injection hole, formed on a nozzle head end part of an injection valve, by means of a needle valve. CONSTITUTION:A fuel injection valve is provided with a pressure chamber 9b, to which fuel is furnished from an unillustrated fuel passage, in the lower part of a nozzle head 9. When the fuel pressure in the pressure chamber 9b comes to a predetermined one, a needle valve 18 moves upward against a spring and the fuel is injected from an opened injection hole 9a. In this case, the needle valve 18 is provided with a needle pin 19 consisting of a large diameter part 19a and a small diameter part 19b which open the injection hole 9a when said valve 18 moves upward by a predetermined distance. Further, the nozzle head 9 is provided with a hole 22, to be opened by means of a small displacement of the needle valve 18, serving as an auxiliary injection port B, which injects a small quantity of fuel prior to fuel injection from an injection port A. |
