PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of an electromagnetic coupling by providing a main coil and an auxiliary coil of different number of turns on the second rotor of the coupling and feeding back the energy generated in the main coil from the auxiliary coil to the main coil. CONSTITUTION:A magnet 5 is mounted on the first rotor 4 of an electromagnetic coupling 3, and a main coil W1 and an auxiliary coil W2 are provided in series with each other in reverse polarity on the second rotor 6. When a switching element S1 is closed, a torque is produced in the same direction as the rotary body 4 at a rotary load 2. At this time, the element S1 is opened and the element S2 is closed before the current flowed through the element S1 becomes large. Then, the current flowed through the coil W1 is also flowed through the coil W2, and the current flowed through the coil W2 operates to produce a torque of reverse direction to the body 4, i.e., to accelerate the body 4. In this manner, the torque of the drive source 1 is alleviated. |
