PURPOSE:To protect a heat generating body and to avoid the danger of causing a fire by a method wherein water in a vessel and water in a partitioned chamber are made to circulate well before boiling while at the time of boiling, the temperature of a heat sensitive member is rapidly increased by making use of a waterless heating condition generating due to air bubbles so that the temperature is controlled quite easily and while at the time of waterless heating, the heat of the heat generating body contacting with the heat sensitive member is utilized to interrupt a power source by making use of the heat sensitive member having a Currie point at a predetermined temperature. CONSTITUTION:When an operation button 18 is pushed downward, a magnet 12 is attracted to a heat sensitive member 9 and a heat generating body 10 is energized. When the heat generating body 10 begins to be heated, the temperature of the water in a partitioned chamber 6 rises up earlier than that of the water in the body of a kettle because the former is larger in quantity than the latter and when it is heated to about 97 deg.C, bubbles generate furiously so that the hot water in the partitioned chamber 6 is pushed into the body 1 through communication ports 7 and 8 and the partitioned chamber 6 is brought under substantially waterless heating condition with a rapid increase in the temperature. Such rapid temperature increase in the partitioned chamber 6 is sensed by the heat sensitive member 9 to lower its magnetism and the magnet moves down due to the energizing force of a spring 14 with the result that a stationary contact 11 and a movable contact 21 are separated from each other to thereby interrupt power supply to the heat generating body 10. |
