Functionally reliable control device

A functionally reliable control unit having two independent function channels and a third channel which simulates the function and the process of the function channels. The components of the function channels are monitored during operation by a monitoring unit and, if necessary, checked on command. The monitoring device is distinguished by error detection and error locating, and can output signals to the function channels and alarm units. A display provides error diagnosis. The control unit is suitable both for controllers and for control systems which are used, for example, in track-guided vehicles or other devices to be controlled which must have a high level of reliability.
