As a result of the storage according to the invention, the stability of the said compounds is retained over a longer period with co-retention of the application possibilities. This is achieved by layering a gas cushion of dry, pure oxygen over the orthovanadic acid compounds. The orthovanadic acid compounds are used as constituents of various catalyst systems for the polymerisation of unsaturated monomers, for example in ethylene-propylene copolymerisation.
