Ignition systems for internal combustion engines

An ignition system having a control signal generator is proposed which, in order to trigger the ignition, reverses an ignition switch in the primary circuit of the ignition system. The control signal generator (10) is to be of the simplest possible design and to be as easy as possible to manufacture and is to interact with a revolving magnet system. For this purpose, the signal generator winding (13) and two iron core rods (14, 15) inserted therein with in each case one section (14b, 15b) are placed in a housing (17) made of insulating material and secured therein by catch projections (19) and guide ribs (22) on the floor (23) of the housing (17) made of insulating material. The control signal generator (10) can be screwed or riveted, with the housing (17) made of insulating material, tight to an armature of a magnet generator: however it can also be arranged on the motor or gearing or in an ignition distributor where it interacts in each case with a revolving magnet system driven by the internal combustion engine. <IMAGE>
