PURPOSE:To prevent the irregularity in the amount of paper feeding, in a thermal printer by tensing the recording paper by a braking means, wherein resistance by which a pair of feed rolls and the recording paper are not slipped from each other is imparted. CONSTITUTION:A recording head 26 compresses and scans the recording paper on a platen 30. The recording head is moved and forms a recorded picture CO in response to a picture signal. When the scanning is finished, the compression is removed. Then a pulse motor 39 is driven, and the recording paper 31 is fed by a pair of the feed rolls 32 and a pair of the brake rolls 33 by a recording width Wc. The speed of the pair of the rolls 32 is faster than that of the pair of rolls 33. The resistance which is given to the recording paper by the pair of the rolls 33 is made to be a degree so that the recording paper 31 is not slipped between the pair of the rolls 32. Therefore the recording paper 31 is tensed and fed by the width Wc at a specified rotary angle of the pair of the rolls 32. Thus the recording paper is accurately fed without wrinkles, and the misalignment of the picture between the lines can be prevented. |
