PURPOSE:To enhance stability of a ship by constituting a space for accomodation of heavy objects, divided in two or more crosswise directed watertight compartments, with watertight longitudinal bulkheads. CONSTITUTION:A space 3 for accomodation of heavy objects surrounded by shelter walls is divided into corsswise directed two or more watertight compartments 6 by a row of watertight longitudinal bulkheads 5. Upper trunks 22 for draught ducts are provided at the upper both sides of each watertight compartment 6 so as to function, at the same time, as draught duct for the cooling equipment and a supporting table for heavy objects with lower trunk 17 provided at the lower both sides of each watertight compartment 6, and upper trunk 22 is formed through utilization of the lower part of a side combing 23 of the hatch 14 and the watertight longituidinal bulkheads 5. A cooling machine room 4 is provided in the upper part 3 of the space 3, and a vertically stretching guide for heavy objects is furnished between the side combing 23 of hatch 14 and the lower trunk 17. Thus simplified facilities as well as stability of the ship are obtained. |
