<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a photocoupuler having high insulating withstand voltage between an input and an output without varying the size of a package by forming refracting parts of light transmitting insulator in three directions. CONSTITUTION:A light transmitting insulator 45 having the shape of enclosing the opposed parts of a light emitting element pellet 43, a lead frame 41 for supporting the pellet, a photodetector pellet 42 and a lead frame 41 for supproting the photodetector pellet secured. The distance of the end faces of the sides from the light emitting side to the photodetecting side is increased. The insulator is formed by selectively etching an insulator such as a glass plate. When the insulating withstand voltage between the input and the output of a photocoupler formed in this manner, a value much higher than the conventional photocoupler can be measured.</p> |
