PURPOSE:To eliminate generation of bubbles, in a fuel supply pump installed in a fuel tank, by utilizing rotation of a rotor. CONSTITUTION:A motor-operated fuel pump sucks in the fuel through a filter 10 and sends it to a pump chamber 1 through an intake 9. In this pump chamber 1, an impeller 2 rotated by a motor 4 will produce the pumping effect, and the fuel is given a pressure and sent to a discharge hole 19 through a flow-through hole 33 and a passage 37. Air bubbles generated in the pump chamber 1 pass through a bubble separator hole 32 installed in the neighborhood of the bearing for pump case 31 to be released to inside the motor 39. Because bubbles generated eventually in the inside fuel owing to the rotating rotor 5 are released to inside the fuel tank through an air bleeder hole 38 provided at the upper part of a motor cover 36, so there is no fear that the fuel pressed forward for the engine will contain any bubbles. |
