In order to be able to bring the upper face of a road gulley inserted partly in the ground and partly in the bedding of a road, for example after applying a new roadway covering, precisely to the height of this roadway covering again, provision is made for the frame resting on a tubular body (1) to be formed from two parts (4, 5) fitted one into the other and screwed to one another by means of a thread (6) and a mating thread (7) in their lateral faces. Axial displacement of the movable part (5) is thus possible in order to bring its upper face, and the cover (2) coplanar therewith, precisely to the height of the surface of the new roadway covering. The height of the parts with thread (6) and mating thread (7) corresponds at least to twice the value of the maximum axial displacement provided between the two parts (4, 5). <IMAGE>
