In the production of silicon for solar cells, it is desirable to produce as flat as possible strip sections made of coarsely crystalline silicon using the spraying process. A particularly advantageous arrangement for this purpose is produced if, according to the invention, a copper drum (1) divided into sections by grooves (3) and covered with a foil (5) is used as heat sink.
