PURPOSE:To obtain an optical printer enabling the sharp reduction of the amount of a gap between right and left optical shutter members, and the continuous formation of images on one line by a memory of small capacity, by a constitution wherein a common electrode in each optical switching array chip is formed on the side of a substrate. CONSTITUTION:One electrode in each chip 3, i.e. a common electrode 12, is formed on the side 11 of a substrate 10, and thereby the amount of a gap DELTAl' between right and left optical shutter members is reduced sharply. A memory of small capacity being sufficient for several lines at most suffices for this constitution even when a light from each of optical shutter members positioned on a first line A and a second line B is converged by equal magnifications onto one line D on a photosensitive substance. |
