A specially designed excavator bucket for clearing the dirt, earth or the like being deposited at the verge below protective planks at roadways has a rail (9) projecting far out transversely to the working direction and having a U-shaped or L-shaped cross-section. The rail (9) merges at its top area into a covering member (10) which projects transversely to the extension of the rail (9) and on which the suspension (7) is provided at a distance from the rail. It is thereby possible to mechanically clean these locations below protective planks, where access is otherwise very difficult. <IMAGE>
