PURPOSE:To obtain a synthetic resin lens with an increased refractive index and enhanced mechanical strength by pressurizing a diethylene glycol bisalkali carbonate resin lens in an isotropic high pressure fluid to make the micropores extremely dense. CONSTITUTION:A diethylene glycol bisalkali carbonate resin lens is put in a high pressure vessel, and statically isotropic high pressure or high pressure and temp. and applied to the resin lens. In the statically isotropic pressurization, a liq. or a gas is used as a pressure medium to apply nondirectional pressure. By combining pressure with temp., the characteristics are further enhanced by the synergistic effect. It is effective to utilize the pressure of a gas especially when pressure is combined with temp. The effective pressure is >=several 100kgf/cm<2>, and the preferred temp. is 50-150 deg.C. |
