PURPOSE:To achieve a uniform noise reducing effect and prevent the occurrence of beat noise, etc. by an arrangement wherein independent exhaust ducts are provided above a plurality of chambers accommodating electric machines, respectively, and the lengths of the exhaust ducts from the chambers to their respective exhaust ducts are equal. CONSTITUTION:In a building 1, chambers 2a, 2b and 2c accommodating electric machines 3, 4 and 5, respectively, are disposed in the direction at right angles to the axial direction of exhaust duct 9a projected inside the building 1. Whilst, located above the accommodation chambers 2a, 2b and 2c are exhaust ducts 9a, 9b and 9c, respectively, one end of each of which opens outside the building 1. The exhaust ducts 9a, 9b and 9c are formed with inverted passages 11a, 11b and 11c, respectively, which communicate with one another and separated by partition plates 10a, 10b and 10c from the respective main passages, the leading ends of the inverted passages 11a, 11b and 11c being connected to the chambers 2a, 2b and 2c, respectively. Thus, the lengths of the ducts from the chambers 2a, 2b and 2c to their exhaust ports are equal so as to achieve a uniform noise reducing effect and prevent the occurrence of heat noise. |
