PURPOSE:To reduce the power consumption by controlling the drive pulse of a step motor detecting the load and the rotation thereof. CONSTITUTION:A drive circuit 17 feeds a drive pulse to a step motor 20 while operating a rotation detecting circuit 18 and a load detecting circuit 19. After a drive pulse is applied to the motor 20, the rotation detecting circuit 18 detects the rotation and non-rotation from current flowing through a motor coil. The load detecting circuit 19 detects the size of a load from current flowing through the motor coil during the application of the drive pulse to the motor 20. According to the outputs of the rotation detecting circuit 18 and the load detecting circuit 19, the drive pulse is fed to the motor 20 from the drive circuit 17. |
