PURPOSE:To attain the stable automatic tracking by providing a recording area between two tracking tracks where information is recorded with irradiation of light beams and setting the space between both tracks at the value >=2 times as much as the track width. CONSTITUTION:The tracking tracks 21 are arranged equidistantly and contain the recording areas between them for recording of information. Then beam spots S1 and S3 are radiated to cover partly both tracks 211 and 212 respectively. While a beam spot S2 is irradiated on a recording area 221. These spot diameters are set smaller than the width of the track 21 so that a recording bit 23 recorded by the spot S2 is not detected by the spot S3. Thus this optical recording medium has the space L between tracks 21 set >=2 times and much as the track width W, i.e., L>=2W is satisfied. |
