Screening apparatus for treatment of flowing suspensions, especially fiber containing cellulose material in liquid, by extraction of liquid and possible addition of displacement liquid. Problems with clogging of screen body perforations and proper movement of suspension through the apparatus have previously been solved by periodic backflushing of the perforations taking place as a result of the screen body having an interior cavity volume with changing dimension when the screen body is driven forward and backward in the direction of suspension flow. The improvement disclosed herein lies in a conical or wedge-shaped screen body of decreasing cross-section in the direction of suspension flow and a baffle plate arranged along the extraction side of the screen surface, said baffle plate being stationary or movable relative to the screen body. |
