PURPOSE:To improve stabilization of arc by making base starting voltage higher than original base voltage, changing base starting voltage by negative feeding back the peak voltage value, and controlling falling waveform of peak current to make the arc length nearly constant. CONSTITUTION:An electric power source for welding consisting of a rectifier circuit 4, a transistor 5, a diode 6 and a smoothing reactor 7 operates the transistor 5 intermittently at specified period and produces peak and base voltage (current) by changing the width of connecting time. Pulse arc 11 is generated between a welding wire 9 and a base metal 12 by power source output of the sum of two voltage (current). A peak signal generating circuit 14 compares current value set by a peak current setting device 15 with current value detected by a current detector 8 and a peak current detecting circuit 13, and generates a peak signal for controlling the width of connecting time of the transistor 5 to obtain specified peak current. |
