PURPOSE:To maintain developing performance stably and satisfactorily over a long period of time, by spraying a nonionic surfactant on the surface of a developer holding member at a prescribed point of time. CONSTITUTION:A compression bomb 9 packed therein with a nonionic surfactant which is dissolved to a suitable concn. is clamped to the outside wall of a developer hopper 5 and is fixed and held thereto by means of bands 10. When the developing performance of a developing sleevs 2 begins to show a considerable decrease, a valve opening and closing mechanism 11 is operated by a repeating circuit 13 at every counting of the integrated number of copies at about 50,000 sheet intervals, by which a valve 91 is operated in the opening direction just for the extremely short time to the extent when the sleeve 2 rotates several turns to force the surfactant in the bomb into a spray pipe 92, thereby spraying the surfactant on the suface of the sleeve 2. |
