Method of reducing the need of energy supplied to distillation processes, especially in the desalination of salt water. This has been attained in that the heat energy of the distillate (11) and the residues (12) formed in the process is lowered by passing both the distillate and the residues through an evaporator (7) forming part of a separate heat pump system (5, 6, 7 (8, 9)), which transfers heat energy to the raw liquid (1) which is to be distilled. this is attained in a device of a kind comprising at least one column provided with a condensor zone (2) and an evaporation zone (3), the condensor zone having an inlet (1) for raw liquid and an outlet (4) for condensate and where there is provided, in connection with the distillation column, a heat pump (5, 6, 7 (8, 9)), the evaporator (7) of which has outgoing conduits (11, 12) for condensate and residual liquid, respectively passing therethrough whereas the condensor (5) of the heat pump has the medium to be distilled passing therethrough before or after its inlet to the evaporation zone (3). |
