PURPOSE:To inspect the presence and the absence of defects formed to the orifice wall of a honeycomb-shaped object, by a method wherein parallel light fluxes are irradiated to the honeycomb-shaped object and the scanning state thereof is projected onto a screen. CONSTITUTION:Light from a light source 1 is converted to parallel light fluxes by a convex lens 2 and a honeycomb like matter 3 to be inspected is arranged on the advance passage of the parallel light fluxes in opposed relation to the light axis thereof. In this state, the above mentioned parallel light fluxed are irradiated to the honeycomb- shaped object 3 while precession movement is imparted between the parallel light fluxes and the honeycomb-shaped object 3 to scan all orifice wall surfaces 3a by said parallel light fluxes and the scanning state thereof is projected onto a screen 4 to inspect the presence and the absence of piercing parts in each orifice wall surfaces 3a. That is, when the piercing parts 5 due to crack or opening formed to the orifice wall surfaces 3a of the honeycomb-shaped object 3 are present, light is leaked from the piercing parts 5 while leaked light is directly advanced forwardly to be projected onto the screen as direct incident light and the precence of the piercing parts 5 in the orifice wall surfaces 3a can be directly confirmed.
|
