PURPOSE:To process in parallel updating of plural indexes, and to execute data updating processing of a data base at a high speed, by executing rewrite of the index in parallel with updating of a data record of the data base, which is executed by a host computer. CONSTITUTION:To a CPU5 of a data processing system, a register means 1 for holding an updating instruction, when a data record updating instruction is executed through a signal line 11 is connected, and to this register means 1, plural index updating means 31-3n connected to index storage means 21- 2n are connected. Also, to the CPU5, a control means 4 is connected through a signal line 41, and to this control means 4, the register 1 and the index updating means 31-3n are connected. In this state, rewrite of the index is executed in parallel with updating of a data record of a data base, which is executed by a host comuter, updating of plural indexes is processed in parallel, and data updating processing of the data base is executed at a high speed. |
