The invention relates to an agricultural machine having implements working in the region of the ground, such as haymaking machines, rotary mowers or the like. Especially when these machines are connected to the tractor by means of front hydraulics, it can happen that the implements working especially in the front region of the machine touch the ground. To prevent this, the invention proposes equipping the machine with ground sensors (21) which are connected to an electrical and hydraulic control (42, 36, 37) for actuating the lifting cylinders (9, 12) of the front hydraulics (2). The machine can thereby be raised automatically on rising land and lowered automatically on falling land. Contacts of the implements with the ground are reliably avoided. <IMAGE>
