The invention relates to an additional sun canopy for a seating and lying mat for leisure, camping, beach and swimming pool, see drawing. It allows an extremely lightweight and inexpensive sun canopy which can be adjusted in a versatile manner and can be collapsed with few manipulations in such a way that the seating and lying mat loses only little in handiness during transport. <IMAGE>
