The system is used for the sequential processing of material of any nature. This, possibly computer-assisted, processing system is characterised in that it comprises a device DS for storing material or information grouped into elementary stand-alone, possibly programmed, units (1 - n), which can be freely combined with one another to form desired sequences of elementary units and means DM for incorporating the additional content of the elementary units (1 - n) at a desired, possibly preset, location of a sequence.
