PURPOSE:To separate highly pure D-CLA from a system containing D,L-CLA, by culturing a specific microbial strain in the system, and passing the cultured liquid or its supernatant liquid through an ion exchange resin. CONSTITUTION:A microbial strain assimilating L-alpha-amino-epsilon-caprolactam is cultured in a culture system containing D,L-CLA (D,L-alpha-amino-epsilon-caprolactam). The microorganisms is e.g. yeasts belonging to Cryptococcus genus, Candida genus, etc., and the culture system contains other carbon sources, nitrogen sources, natural nutrients, etc. The cultured liquid or its supernatant liquid is passed through a strong cation exchange resin to adsorb the D-CLA and a part of impurity cations to the exchange resin. The adsorbed D-CLA, etc. are eluted by passing ammonia water through the cation exchange resin, and the eluate is passed through a strong anion exchange resin to adsorb lysine, etc. |
