PURPOSE:To obtain the apparatus having a good linear characteristic, by providing a wave making plate so as to cover the entire water surface in a compartment formed by surrounding walls so that a part of the water surface of the water tank is partitioed, and moving said wave making plate up and down. CONSTITUTION:At the end part of the water tank 1, the surrounding walls 1a- 1d are provided so that a part of the water surface in the tank is partitioned, and the compartment 10 in a rectangular parallelepiped shape is formed. A water path 7 in a gradually widening shape is formed under the compartment 10. The wave making plate 4 is coupled into the compartment 10 so as to cover the entire water surface in the inside. A packing on the peripheral surface of the wave making plate 4 is slidden along a steel plate 6 attached to the inner wall surfaces 1a-1d. The wave making plate 4 is connected to a piston rod of a hydraulic cylinder 3 and moved up and down by the cylinder 3. |
